Welcome!
Optimist clubs all over the world strive to "bring out the best in kids." We offer programs for youth that are tailored to the needs of local communities. The organization's motto, Friend of Youth is also its raison d'etre. There are a number of district-specific programs we put on each year, and for that we invite you to look at the Programs section of this site.

We missed you at Knott’s Berry Farm.
Some of the thing we talked about was Club Recognitions, “Brining out the Best in Kids” Club, complete two service projects a year. Add one member, be current on District & OI dues, and recognize a club member or local community Leader. Seems pretty simple we all do this normally. For doing this your club will receive a Banner Patch then a year bar after. For more information on Recognition & Awards form Optimist International check out the information and links on the Website: www.pwsdoptimist.org
When your club has a guest speaker, and your club presents him or her with a plaque, wouldn’t it be a great thought if your club presented them with the Gift of Optimism? Present them with a Friend of Optimist membership. For a $100.00 donation, you also receive credit for bringing in a new member. WOW “that was easy” to copy a phrase

I would like challenge each of you to Step Up and get 2 members this year. That really doesn’t sound difficult, they can be Friends of Optimist, or they can be college members. I remember a wise man said if you take a little time and go ask someone to become a volunteer, they usually say yes.

Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH)This fantastic program offered by the Pacific Southwest Optimist District offers an opportunity for children who are deaf or hard of hearing to present their thoughts in the community, gaining skills, which can only come from signing or speaking to a large audience.
